You don'have a party every day. Unless you are Dutch fashion guru Fiona Hering of course. But how much do you feel like digging up that same old dress of yours and dusting it off? You'd rather invest in something hip. You are so right. Why would'nt you indulge yourself for one night to radiate like Kate Winslet during the Oscars? Here are the trends for 2007 in the field of (formal) evening wear.
• Black will never go out of fashion but for 2007 we do see many coloured formal evening dresses. It doesn't really matter whether you go for red, yellow (à la Michelle Williams, wife of hottie Heath Ledger), green or pink. However, there is a slight preference for rich, deep colours like beatiful purple.
• In 2006 we all transformed into golddiggers with gold purses, pumps and jewelery, in 2007 silver is slowly taking over. In formal evening wear fashion this trend is transformed into formal evening dresses with silver stripes, beads and other details. Accessories come in the same spacy colour. Choose a sillver handbag, silver pumps mor jewelery, for instance.
• Spotted often at Cymbeline, but also on the catwalk and with stars: lace in your formal evening dress. Especially black lace is super hot, because of its sexy look. Very romantic glam. Looks great with deep purple too, but be careful: the Dita von Teese look is good, the Marilyn Manson look isn't.
• The ideal solution for everyone who cannot choose between a long and short dress: the formal evening dress that is short at the front but long at the back. Functional evening wear with a beautiful design..
• All new in the land of trends s the dress with a short under it. The front of the dress is open so that the short shows and the back is nice and long. It will often reach the ground. You do have to have the right figure for it and you shouldn't wear it unless you feel comfortable in it, but this look is really brazen, trendy & nice and perky.
• A simple dress won't do in 2007: it is all about embroidery and beads in 2007. You will find them all over your dress. You know what to look for...
• Whatever you choose to wear: ensure that your clothing is feminine to the core if you go to a party. It is okay if you also go fior a brazen tom-boy look (such as the dress with short we described earlier) as long as you combie it with ultra feminine heels. It's a question of smart combinations and good shopping!
